Thanks for your prompt response.  Unfortunately, having carried out your suggested cure on two separate occasions the problem still exists.  Can you help further please.  Steve

Hi and thanks for your reply.

The version of Windows Media Player shows as:  12.0.14393.479.

Attached here is a screenshot of the fault box which shows up each time I try to make a playlist.

Before contacting you, I have previously tried running all the Windows Media Player trouble shooters, to no avail and have even tried to delete all my music from the PC, thinking I could start again from scratch, but unable to delete.

Regards, Stephen Richardson

Hi. Thanks for your last reply. However, my laptop is running on Windows 10.  Will these suggested fixes work, even though they refer to Windows 8?

Thanks, Steve.

Hi There,

I have tried all the remedies suggested, without any success.  As a last resort, I completely emptied my music folder and thus windows media player. So starting from scratch, I have now uploaded my music again and this time, windows media player seems to be working ok, and I can make and edit new playlists.  It should be noted however that the troubleshooter for windows media player is showing that the programme/file is corrupted.  This message came up after running the troubleshooter when media player was empty and still shows despite trying switching media player function off, then back on again.  I guess I will just have to live with this, but am keeping fingers firmly crossed that the so-called corruption will not cause a future issue?

Regards,

Steve Richardson
